Kandis is a native of Evanston, Illinois and now resides in the Douglas/Bronzeville community. In her spare time, she serves on Board of Directors for a City of Chicago community Council. Additionally, she is a Policy Advocate (Chronic conditions) for health insurance coverage for all citizens of Illinois. She previously held a career in Healthcare Research & Development.
